Exchequer

The Chancellor of the Exchequer is the treasurer of the shire. He or she keeps the shire’s books and is a part of any transaction involving shire money. This title is frequently abbreviated to simply “Exchequer.”

Time commitments

  • Maintain physical and virtual financial records for the shire
  • File quarterly and end of year reports
  • Coordinate with event stewards to file NMR and event reports
  • Deposit checks to shire bank account, coordinate with other signatories to write checks for reimbursements, site fees, etc
  • Create annual budget for shire
  • General exchequer time commitment – 5-10 hours a month
  • Additional event-specific commitment – 5-10 hours per event, plus time at event
