May was busy, beginning with Boredom War. There were two events in the beginning of June. Have received feedback from Boredom War. One of our members is interested in being on the field at Pennsic.
• Lord Graywolf and Harold have received some positive emails about the siege event at Boredom War.
• For the beginning of June, Lord Faolan Dearg and Harold Orn will be commanding the Grand Dame of all the East Kingdom siege engines, Lady Draconis. There will be three siege weapon challenges, as yet to be defined, as part of the event. The following weekend at Vinland Raids. Harold will be assisting with siege weapons. All interested parties are invited to view our participation at the event.
• Two members of the Shire, one current and one former, have been in touch concerning Siege Weapons. Antonio, who departed for Atlantia months ago, has kept in touch about siege weapons. Harold has been forwarding the messages to Lord Graywolf, and passing responses back to Antonio. Lady Isabel of Rosely contacted Harold about her desire to participate in the new Siege Rock program during the Castle Battle at Pennsic. Appropriate armor is being procured so she can participate. The Siege Rock program is open to any Society member in society minimal armor.

Old Business:
The Boredom War wrap-up was on the 25th of May. A list has been typed up for the next Autocrat. There’s a whole kit being put together for the next Autocrat, with information and plans.

A discussion was held about whether we need to always do Boredom War. Suggestions included making it a day event, or perhaps turning it into a different event. The next bid is due by October for next year’s Boredom War.

New Business:
The seneschal is supposed to get officer reports. Various offices are due at different frequencies.

A yearly inventory is planned to keep track of Shire equipment.
One copy will go to seneschal.
One copy will go to the Exchequer.

Isabel proposed a yearly inspection and inventory, to keep track of items that are with different individuals. Damiean seconded the motion, and it passed.

The East Kingdom Academy of the Rapier Day Board is coming up on June 26th. Volunteers are needed. It is in Westford, Massachusetts. We need to show up around 10:00 AM.

Discussion of Les Jeux, the new site is OK but the owner is concerned about where various things will be, such as tents or horses. We are investigating other sites. There are not a lot of amenities at the site, a better site would be really welcome. Attendance is dwindling, some equestrians want the event to be exclusively for horses and do not want to expand it. We will need a new autocrat for the event. There was some discussion of sites, there have been complications with organizing the equestrians. We need an event bid. There is the possibility of experimental jousting. There will not be a day board at the event. The event is to be on September 11th.

“East Kingdom University” is for the central region. We’d like to sponsor an event, such as classes. Event planning is currently in progress. It may be in October or November.

Eleanor proposed buying serving vessels. Isabel seconded the proposal. It was approved.

For Boredom War, there are thoughts of getting a portable car-port for a shower and/or a changing room. The idea of a 12x20 easy-up being purchased for the Kingdom is being considered. Bids for the shower project are to be discussed further.

Don has some heavy-duty industrial-type sewing equipment which may come in useful for various projects.

We have been using MEMC for a while. We are considering a donation to MEMC as a gesture of appreciation.

Faolan says we have three volunteers for voice heralding. There are no tabards for the heralds, but we have green and white material. The tabards will be made.

The cost of easy-ups is around $400.00. Canvas tents may be about the same amount. We are researching the cost of a canvas pavilion (with no walls).
